Cardiff City 1-1 Blackpool
Joe Ledley managed to battle through another game but despite the assistance of Adam Matthews from the 52nd minute, all Cardiff could do was share the points with Blackpool.
Rob Edwards missed out on a place in Blackpool’s squad due to suspension but Neal Eardley came close to scoring from a free kick as well as providing crosses for his team-mates and David Vaughan too could have found himself with an assist if Cardiff’s keeper hadn’t been so quick to save a shot from Ben Burgess. Daniel Nardiello appearing for Blackpool for the first time since his return from a loan spell at Bury.
Coventry City 3-1 Barnsley
Freddy Eastwood scored Coventry’s first goal – his fifth in six games - as they managed a victory against a club that has been steadily improving. I’m hoping to go and see Wales’ friendly with Northern Ireland in March and the way Freddy’s been playing, he should be going too.
Derby County 1-4 Scunthorpe United
Not even the presence of Robbie Savage, who returned from suspension, could help Derby to get a win in a home encounter against one of their ‘relegation rivals’. Would a Millwall giant-killing next Tuesday be completely outside the realms of possibility?
