Bristol Rovers 2-1 Charlton Athletic
Charlton’s worrying run continues with defeat to Bristol Rovers, a side that haven’t exactly been noted for beating the top teams lately. Or any teams. The loss of Grant Basey to a suspected broken leg after 12 seconds must have been difficult for Charlton though – even if they could manage without him, the players are human and they could have been feeling worried or upset, no matter how professional they are. Their goal didn’t come until the seventh minute of stoppage time.
Byron Anthony played at right back for Bristol Rovers and was lucky not to concede a penalty. Ben Swallow stayed on the bench.
And BBC Sport reports that Grant has ankle ligament damage, not a broken leg. I’m not sure I’d call that good news and ligament damage can be pretty serious too but it looks as though he’s expected back before the end of the season. Get well soon, Grant.
