League One Results 4th September 2010 Part 2

Oldham Athletic 1-1 Bristol Rovers
Oldham were without their injured captain while two of their strikers were on international duty. I think if just one more had been called up, they’d have been able to postpone the match. Things were so desperate that manager Paul Dickov had to play. But Bristol Rovers were unable to take advantage.
Joe Jacobson vowed to get back into Oldham’s squad after failing to attract a buyer in the transfer window. Probably even he was a bit surprised by how quickly he managed to do this. He started on the bench before making a 75th-minute substitute appearance.
Byron Anthony played in defence for Bristol Rovers with Ben Swallow and Eliot Richards on the bench.

Southampton 0-2 Rochdale
Promoted Rochdale become the latest team to beat promotion favourite (or former promotion favourites?) Southampton. Managerless Southampton were no match for Rochdale, who are unbeaten away this season although they are yet to win at home.
Matt Done was on the bench for Rochdale.

Tranmere Rovers 1-0 Peterborough United

Tranmere got their first win of the season against Peterborough, who remain in the play-off places despite this result.
Kayleden Brown completed his loan spell at Tranmere with a 65th-minute substitute appearance.
Arron Davies started for Peterborough but left the field after just 25 minutes with a hamstring injury.

Walsall 0-1 Colchester United
Colchester’s late win move them up into the play-off places – where they spent quite a lot of last season before going on a bad run and missing out.
Sean Geddes was on the bench for Walsall.
Lee Beevers and Lloyd James were on the bench for Colchester.
