Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United
Ryan Giggs was back in the Manchester United side after recovering from a hip injury. He had the chance to snatch a point for Man U but he had a bit of a shit game. So Chelsea won.
But look on the bright side. Manchester United lost.
Hull City 2-1 Stoke City
Defenders Ryan Shawcross (newly eligible for Wales) and Danny Collins (not speaking to John Toshack) played as Stoke City were defeated by a Hull City side who were minus Boaz Myhill. Ryan got the assist for Stoke’s goal. He also picked up a yellow card. Danny must have felt left out - he was the only defender who didn’t get one.
West Ham United 1-2 Everton
Last week, Jack Collison played the whole match and West Ham won. This week, manager Gianfranco Zola took him off at half-time and West Ham lost. Can you see the connection? Let’s hope Zola does too. I just hope he isn’t injured…
Danny Gabbidon was a doubt with hip and calf problems and he didn’t even make the bench. Like a lot of players who have had a long lay-off, he’s been a bit injury prone. Maybe he should give Wales v Scotland a miss and give himself the chance to recover properly. I’d love to see him play but I don’t want to see him aggravate his injuries.
Wigan Athletic 1-1 Fulham
Simon Davies was hoping to play some part in this match for Fulham but he didn’t even make the bench. I like how he was looking on the bright side. You need to be able to do that if you want to play for Wales.
Jason Koumas was on the bench for Wigan. I hope he didn’t talk to Simon too much. I don’t want Simon getting any ideas about retiring. It’s not big or clever, Jason. The opposition might benefit from not having to play against you but what about Wales?
