WALES v SCOTLAND SQUAD (Midfielders and Strikers)

Midfielders: Jack Collison (West Ham United), David Cotterill (Sheffield United), Simon Davies (Fulham), David Edwards (Wolverhampton W), Andy King (Leicester City), Joe Ledley (Cardiff City), Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal)
Jack Collison and Aaron Ramsey are two of the youngest players but are very creative and Wales need to hurry up and give Jack a cap – I don’t think he’s going to do a Rhys Williams but I’d feel happier if the possibility was removed. Anyway Jack deserves a cap. Simon Davies is an experienced player so if he is fit I’d like him to play some part in the match. I’m a bit scared he’s going to retire like all the others so I want him to know he’s needed.
So I’ll go with Aaron, Jack, Joe Ledley and Dave Edwards to start and bring Simon on later if he’s fit enough and probably David Cotterill too.

Strikers: Craig Bellamy (Manchester City). Simon Church (Reading), Ched Evans (Sheffield United),
Jermaine Easter (MK Dons), Sam Vokes (Wolverhampton W on loan to Leeds).
Leagues One and Two will be playing during international week but Jermaine Easter and Sam Vokes are still in the squad. Jermaine struggled a bit against Liechtenstein but he was called in at the last minute after being out of the Wales squad for a while. So maybe he just needs to get used to the team. I’m especially happy Ched Evans was called up. He’s been playing for the Under-21s lately and when John Toshack finally called him up for the full squad he went and injured himself.
Craig Bellamy will be brilliant if he shows up. To be fair he has had long-term knee problems and this is only a friendly so I don’t mind really if he wants to rest it.
So I’d start with Ched with one of the others, whoever looks best in training. Then I’d definitely want to bring on Jermaine. He’d done well for MK Dons so I’d like to see him scoring that many goals for Wales.
