Premier League Results and Postponements 6th January

Stoke City 3-2 Fulham
Ryan Shawcross came back from suspension and Danny Collins dropped to the bench as Stoke finally got the good home form back. But it was not the best day for the defenders – they were 3-0 up at half-time and even minus Simon Davies, Fulham came right back into it. A few sources claim Ryan handled the ball but maybe they’re just jealous.
Worryingly, Ryan says he loves it at Stoke and doesn’t want to leave. I’m sure there are footballers around who actually mean it when they say that but it’s best not to get too hopeful at this time of year. (I’m not sure I even want him coming to Arsenal – we could do with another centre back as Johan Djourou is injured and Philippe Senderos seems to belong somewhere else but Ryan probably wouldn’t get many starts at Arsenal.)

Arsenal P-P Bolton
Aaron Ramsey missed the chance to consolidate his place in the starting line-up in the absence of Cesc Fabregas. But he can always do it on Saturday. And I can’t imagine Sam Ricketts would have enjoyed sitting on the bench in this weather. He would have frozen his certain vital organs off.
