Welsh Player News (and rumours) 11th June (Championship)

Cardiff City’s chances of keeping Joe Ledley look even smaller as Celtic and Rangers are able to pay him significantly more.

Robbie Savage
will be a co-presenter on 606 next season. I wonder if anyone will phone in to have a go at him. But he plans to continue his playing career next season and beyond.

John Oster will probably be fit for pre-season training next month. There’s a chance he might need a minor knee operation but even then he should be ready in time.

The Middlesbrough doctor has rejected claims by Australia that Rhys Williams was given injections before his Middlesbrough matches towards the end of last season. Middlesbrough have also confirmed that Rhys won’t be fit for the start of the new season.

Released Millwall striker Jason Price says a number of clubs are interested in him, including Carlisle United, one of the teams with whom he spent time on loan last season. Jason enjoyed playing for Carlisle but he’s waiting to see if any other offers come up.

My dad says Steve Morison will remain with Millwall next season – but West Bromwich Albion and Leicester City might have other ideas (although Leicester’s financial situation means they’re unlikely to sign him. Given the choice of my dad and the papers, I’d say my dad is far more likely to tell the truth. Luckily, Millwall seem to agree with my dad.

Norwich City manager Paul Lambert says there is room for everyone in his squad but Rhoys Wiggins’ chances of first-team football seem to have decresed even further after Norwich signed another right back. Bournemouth might be quite happy to hear that…

Joe Allen will probably miss the start of next season. The Swansea City midfielder had a shoulder operation in May and won’t be able to do any contact work for 12 weeks.

Swansea City’s Kerry Morgan, who played on loan at Newport County last season, was a nominee for the Non-League Player of the Year award.

Jazz Richards hopes he’ll have more chances to play in midfield next season, after spending most of his playing time last season at full back. He was lucky to play at all but it’s good to have ambition.
