But the good news is that he hasn’t been corrupted by Ashley Cole and he does know what the word ‘loyalty’ means.

League Two Fixtures (and Postponements) 4th December 2010
Accrington Stanley P-P Shrewsbury
This match won’t happen as apparently there’s something wrong with the weather.
Aldershot Town P-P Bradford City
Aldershot have a frozen pitch so this match has been postponed.
Bradford’s loan striker Jason Price gets what is probably a welcome break from the rough and tumble of League Two. Michael Flynn is at least two months away from a return.
Bury P-P Chesterfield
Bury have a frozen pitch too. There’s a lot of it going around.
Owain fon Williams says Bury v Chesterfield is a massive game – but depending on when the rearranged fixture is, he might not get to play in it.

Josh Low says Cheltenham have come a long way in the last twelve months. I’d say they’ve come a long way in the last six months too. At the end of last season, they were fourteen places lower than they are now.

Crewe have one fewer match to show Rhys Taylor why he should stay for the whole season. Centre back Danny Blanchett certainly seems to like him.
Rhys wants to stay with Crewe for the rest of the season. Wales might be short of players who can score penalties – but here’s one who can save them.

Anthony Pulis should start for Stockport after extending his loan deal to 4th January. Highlights of his loan spell so far include a debut goal and three 5-0 defeats. But I’m sure that’s not Anthony’s fault.

FA Cup Fixtures 6th November 2010 (Part 3)
Forest Green v Northampton Town
Forest Green have lots of injury doubts but the manager won’t say who which is no help at all. Brothers Mike Fowler and Lee Fowler and also Curtis McDonald are on Forest Green’s books. Mike seems to be a regular starter and Curtis has recently returned from a calf injury but Lee will be out for about three months due to a knee ligament injury.
Paul Walker will probably be on the bench for Northampton.
Gillingham v Dover Athletic
Adam Birchall could play for Dover against their Kent rivals. He was released from his last club, Barnet, by manager Ian Hendon, who is now the assistant manager at Gillingham. Adam has just signed a two-year contract extension after being linked with a move to... Gillingham.
Guisley v Crawley Town
Glenn Wilson could play for Crawley Town. Guiseley are unbeaten in 16 matches in all competitions.
Hartlepool United v Vauxhall Motors
Rob Marsh-Evans played for Vauxhall in the FA Cup whilst on loan from Southport but he’s returned to his parent club now. Vauxhall are unbeaten in nine.
Harrow Borough v Chesterfield
Craig Davies will hope to continue his excellent scoring record against Harrow – but only if he’s played. Mark Crossley could play in goal for Chesterfield. Robert Page could also be in contention.
Havant & Waterlooville v Droylsden
Two of the most famous giantkillers (in my time as a football supporter) go head to head in the first round of the FA Cup. The home side will be remembered for romantic reasons but the Droylsden story was more a comedy. Of more than a few errors. (Neither of them seem to have any Welsh players at the moment but these are two of my favourite football stories ever.)
Havant knocked out York City, Notts County and Swansea City before taking the lead twice at Anfield. Liverpool went on to win the game 5-2 but it should have been 4-2. One of those goals was offside. I bet Havant would love another go at Liverpool this season.
Droylsden knocked out Darlington in the FA Cup two seasons ago and then faced Chesterfield.
The first fixture between these sides was abandoned due to fog (Chesterfield were leading 2-0).
The second match was drawn 2-2 in controversial circumstances. Droylsden kicked the ball out of play to allow an injured Chesterfield player to be treated. Chesterfield didn’t return possession and following the throw-in, they accidently scored a goal. The Chesterfield manager solved the problem by telling his players to stand aside and let Droylsden score.
In the replay, Chesterfield went two goals ahead but the match was abandoned due to floodlight failure.
When the replay was replayed, Droylsden won the match and knocked Chesterfield out of the Cup.
Except they didn’t because they’d accidentally fielded an ineligible player (he was banned for a fifth booking but because of all the replays all over the place, Droylsden got confused). And not only did he play, he scored the two goals to knock Chesterfield out.
So Droylsden were thrown out of the competition, with Chesterfield progressing in their place.
Chesterfield went on to lose to Ipswich Town and therefore became one of I’m sure comparatively few teams who have played in the first two rounds (proper) of the FA Cup without actually winning a game.

League Two Results 16th October 2010 (Part 2)
Port Vale 0-0 Gillingham
Port Vale won’t be very happy after playing a third consecutive game without a win but they’re probably still happier than Gillingham. While a point at the home of the former league leaders is actually pretty good, equalling a club record for number of games without defeat is slightly less good. Especially when the number of winless games is 33.
Gareth Owen helped Port Vale to their clean sheet, by both earning the Man of the Match award and supported his central defence partner Ritchie Sutton through his first league start.
Shrewsbury Town 2-0 Lincoln City
Shrewsbury won for the first time in six matches but the run can’t have been as bad as it sounded. Shrewsbury are 5th in the table, four points from the top of the table and unbeaten at home.
Tom Bradshaw was on the bench for Shrewsbury.
Southend United 0-2 Crewe Alexandra
Crewe’s run of five consecutive draws came to an end – and luckily their unbeaten run didn’t end with it. This was Crewe’s first away win of the season.
Peter Gilbert was dropped to Southend’s bench and Crewe took full advantage. Nathaniel Jarvis came off the bench late on and tried to help but he couldn’t get past Crewe goalkeeper Rhys Taylor. The good news is that Wales have a great goalkeeper waiting in the wings. The bad news? He plays for Chelsea.

Stockport won at home for the first time since February. Admittedly it wasn’t against the best team in the league – Barnet have only one point from away games this season - but Stockport got the same number of points as they’d have got if they’d been playing Chesterfield.
Loanee Anthony Pulis again showed he’s not as bad as people think when he got the assist for the winning goal. Owain fon Williams was on the bench for Stockport.
Barnet loanee Grant Basey missed out with an ankle injury.

Chesterfield move to the top of the table after beating Wycombe although part of the credit must go to Gillingham, who held Port Vale to a draw.

Tom Bradshaw will be hoping to make another supersub appearance for Shrewsbury.

League Two Results 25th September 2010 Part 2
Northampton Town 2-0 Bradford City
Having disposed of one of the Premier League’s most successful teams this week, Northampton seemed to have little difficulty with former Premier League side Bradford, who weren’t at their best. Northampton should really have won by more but we’ll let them off, they were probably tired.
Paul Walker was on the bench for Northampton.
Bradford will be counting the days until Michael Flynn returns him his groin injury.
Port Vale 2-0 Accrington Stanley
Accrington’s unbeaten start to the season came to an end at the home of league leaders Port Vale. They didn’t play especially badly and they remained in the top seven but Port Vale are on great form right now and not many teams will stop them.
Gareth Owen played in defence for Port Vale.
Rotherham United 1-0 Chesterfield
Chesterfield lost for the first time this season against a strong Rotherham side, who move ahead of them into third place.
Mark Bradley made another late appearance from the bench for Rotherham. He hasn’t had many chances at his new club – maybe if one of the midfielders got injured really early in the game, he could come on and have a nice long time to show what he can do. But I don’t want to see any player get injured and I’m sure Mark feels the same way.
Craig Davies did his best to add to his four goals this season but it didn’t happen for him this time with the Rotherham keeper on great form. Robert Page was on the bench.

Aldershot took the lead in the first half and looked set to take all three points but two late goals from Stockport meant they were forced to share.

Darren Jones returned to Aldershot’s defence which meant Aaron Morris was back on the bench despite a great performance last week.
Torquay United 1-3 Macclesfield Town
The problem with winning several games is a row is that it can become almost second nature. So when someone does finally beat you, you can’t quite remember what the winning formula was. At least, that’s why I think Torquay are struggling for points now. Macclesfield scored twice in two minutes to take the points although some would say Torquay were the better side.
Sam Wedgbury was a late substitute for Macclesfield.
Wycombe Wanderers 2-2 Shrewsbury Town
A stoppage-time goal for Wycombe meant that Shrewsbury were forced to share the points – and surrender their place at the top of the League Two table.
Wycombe were winning 1-0 with just over ten minutes left to play but substitute Tom Bradshaw’s 78th minute equaliser inspired Shrewsbury to fight for a winner. And they did get another goal but unfortunately so did Wycombe.

League Two Fixtures 25th September 2010 Part 2
Northampton Town v Bradford City
Northampton’s confidence should be high after knocking Liverpool out of the Carling Cup. (Yes, that is correct. It was Liverpool.) Now they take on former Premier League side Bradford.
Paul Walker could be on the bench for Northampton.
Bradford’s Michael Flynn returned to training this week after a hernia operation but he’s unlikely to play.
Port Vale v Accrington Stanley
A big enough win could see Port Vale go top even if current top side Shrewsbury Town do win. But Accrington have had a strong start to the season and although they’re yet to win away, they have an unbeaten record which they won’t want to lose.
Gareth Owen should be in defence for Port Vale. Lewis Haldane is still recovering from an insect bite he suffered in pre-season (and ‘suffered’ really is the word for it. Hope you’re doing okay, Lewis);
Rotherham United v Chesterfield
Rotherham could take Chesterfield’s place in the top three if they win this match although it does depend on Torquay United. With Rotherham unbeaten at home and Chesterfield unbeaten away (and home), I fancy a draw.
Mark Bradley will probably be on the bench for Rotherham but they really should give him a chance soon.

Northampton’s confidence should be high after knocking Liverpool out of the Carling Cup. (Yes, that is correct. It was Liverpool.) Now they take on former Premier League side Bradford.

Bradford’s Michael Flynn returned to training this week after a hernia operation but he’s unlikely to play.
Port Vale v Accrington Stanley
A big enough win could see Port Vale go top even if current top side Shrewsbury Town do win. But Accrington have had a strong start to the season and although they’re yet to win away, they have an unbeaten record which they won’t want to lose.
Gareth Owen should be in defence for Port Vale. Lewis Haldane is still recovering from an insect bite he suffered in pre-season (and ‘suffered’ really is the word for it. Hope you’re doing okay, Lewis);
Rotherham United v Chesterfield
Rotherham could take Chesterfield’s place in the top three if they win this match although it does depend on Torquay United. With Rotherham unbeaten at home and Chesterfield unbeaten away (and home), I fancy a draw.
Mark Bradley will probably be on the bench for Rotherham but they really should give him a chance soon.
Craig Davies should start up front for Chesterfield with Robert Page on the bench.

League Two Fixtures 18th September 2010 Part 1
Aldershot Town v Wycombe Wandeers
Wycombe are managed by a former Aldershot boss who would probably love to see them challenging for promotion again – but maybe they could save their challenge for next week.
Darren Jones should start for Aldershot with Aaron Morris on the bench.
Barnet v Rotherham United
Rotherham failed to win their last two matches but Barnet tend to be a lot more obliging than most opponents.
Mark Bradley will probably be on the bench for Rotherham.
Bradford City v Gillingham
Gillingham hope to end their away day hoodoo against Bradford, who haven’t quite got the hang of this fighting for promotion business.
Michael Flynn is still out with a groin injury but BBC Sport say the Bradford midfielder has a calf injury too. Michael misses the chance to play against former club Gillingham.
Burton Albion v Crewe Alexandra
Burton have made a good start to their second season in League football and are unbeaten at home. Crewe have only won two games this season, neither of which were away. But when they do win, it’s usually pretty emphatic.
Tony James will be hoping to keep his place in Burton’s defence after some impressive performances when deputising for an injured team-mate.

Ryan Green, Ryan Valentine and Stuart Fleetwood should all be in Hereford’s squad with the two Ryans more likely to start than Stuart.

League Two Results 11th September 2010 Part 1
Cheltenham Town 1-0 Stevenage Borough
Cheltenham remain in the play-off places after a 1-0 victory over new boys Stevenage, who played well but were unable to find the back of the net.
Josh Low played the full match for Cheltenham.
Crewe Alexandra 3-0 Bury
Crewe might not have been winning as many games as fans and those at the club would have hoped but when they win, they make sure it’s a good one. A 3-0 victory over Bury was probably their most disappointing win of the season. It’s great but it doesn’t quite measure up to 1-0 wins over Championship opposition or 7-0 thrashings of Barnet.
Rhys Taylor played in goal for Crewe. I’d like to say he had a great game but he didn’t really have to do anything.
Gillingham 2-0 Shrewsbury Town
Gillingham still haven’t got one of those elusive away win things but at least they’ve got one at home this season and it was a pretty good one too, considering Shrewsbury were unbeaten.
But Shrewsbury didn’t put Tom Bradshaw on the bench so I might as well not have mentioned this match at all.
Hereford United 0-2 Oxford United
Hereford lost for the fourth consecutive game while Oxford sit happily in the play-off places, having one just one more match than Hereford. Or twice as many matches, depending on how you want to look at it.
Ryan Green, Ryan Valentine and Stuart Fleetwod all played for Hereford.

Bottom club Morecambe couldn’t find a first win of the season but failing to lose to an unbeaten club is still pretty promising.

League Two Results 4th September 2010 Part Two
Chesterfield 2-1 Lincoln City
Chesterfield remain in the top three after a narrow but probably deserved victory over Lincoln.
Craig Davies got the winner for Chesterfield, his second goal in as many games. Mark Crossley was on the bench for Chesterfield but Robert Page was missing with an Achilles injury, despite reports that he could be back in the starting eleven.
Macclesfield Town 0-2 Stockport County
Stockport claimed their first win of the season over Macclesfield, who sit second bottom in the table.
Owain fon Williams was dropped to the bench and his replacement, unfortunately for Owain, did rather well. He kept a clean sheet and saved a penalty which just isn’t fair.
Sam Wedgbury was on the bench for Macclesfield.
Oxford United 4-0 Morecambe
Morecambe are bottom of the table after Oxford thrashed them 4-0.
Oxford were without Rhys Day, who has a knee injury.
Darren Moss was dropped to Morecambe’s bench. I wouldn’t leave him there again if I were you, Morecambe.
Shrewsbury Town 1-0 Rotherham United
A win for Rotherham would have put them level on points with Shrewsbury but the home team won and climbed to the top of the table too. The goal came after just five minutes but Rotherham refused to concede defeat (although I suppose they had to after the match) and played very well, without quite managing to do anything like score a goal.
Tom Bradshaw wasn’t in Shrewsbury’s squads although he did score in a recent reserve match.
Rotherham’s Mark Bradley was away with the under-21s.
Southend United 2-1 Torquay United
Torquay’s unbeaten run finally came to an end at the hands – or hopefully feet – of Southend. Torquay had a good game and could have got an equaliser but Southend weren’t having it.
Peter Gilbert played in defence for Southend.

League Two Results 21st August 2010 Part 1
Accrington Stanley 3-0 Macclesfield Town
I thought Macclesfield Town would finish in the bottom two this season and they’re certainly in the bottom two now. Accrington are unbeaten this season.
Sam Wedgbury played his first complete game for Macclesfield.
Burton Albion 3-2 Morecambe
Last season, Burton had a good start and then tailed off while Morecambe put together a great run towards the end and got into the play-offs. This season looks similar, which should be some comfort for Morecambe fans. Morecambe were winning 2-1 but Burton came back to take the points.
Tony James was back on the bench for Burton. Morecambe had the sense to play their own Welsh defender, Darren Moss, who got the assist for their first goal.
Bury 1-1 Northampton Town
Northampton took the lead at Bury through a penalty and although Bury equalised, Northampton held firm and doubled their points tally for this season.
Paul Walker was on the bench for Northampton.
Chesterfield 4-0 Hereford United
Hereford’s start to the season hasn’t been too bad but promotion contenders Chesterfield, now in second place, were too much for them on this occasion.
Ryan Valentine usually takes great penalties and he did on this occasion but the goalkeeper made an impossibly good save. Chesterfield were only winning 2-0 at the time. To quote various commentators, the score would have been different if that had gone in. Without a doubt. Not the way Ryan was hoping to celebrate his 300th Football League appearance.
Chesterfield were without all their Welshmen. Robert Page is injured, Craig Davies is suspended and Mark Crossley is apparently just old. He’s also famous for saving penalties so Ryan wouldn’t have done any better with him.

Accrington and Macclesfield are both without a win this season and that can only come to an end for one of them tomorrow.
Sam Wedgbury has played a part for Macclesfield in every game so far this season.
Burton Albion v Morecambe
And here are two more teams without a win.
Tony James could be back on the bench for Burton but I would keep him where he is. Burton have kept clean sheets in both their league games. The defence seems fine.
So maybe they could bring in a new midfielder instead. They do have a new one called Garyn Preen…
Darren Moss has started every game for Morecambe this season so let’s hope that continues.

Bury have three points from their opening two games but Northampton have just the one.
Paul Walker will probably be on the bench for Northampton. Apparently the old saying ‘if he’s good enough, he’s old enough’ doesn’t apply in this case. (He is good enough. He played in pre-season and Northampton were unbeaten. Even though they played against Watford and Birmingham.)

Chesterfield are up in the play-off places now with Hereford only behind them on goal difference.
The Sofas will be without Craig Davies as he completes his three-match suspension. I’ve finally found out that Robert Page’s absence from Chesterfield’s squad is due to an Achilles injury but I don’t know about Mark Crossley. Maybe he’s just a bit old.
Ryan Green and Ryan Valentine should keep their places in defence for Hereford but Stuart Fleetwood hasn’t scored yet this season. I’d still play him but managers can be a bit funny sometimes about strikers who don’t score.

League Two Results 14th August 2010 Part 2
Macclesfield Town 0-1 Shrewsbury Town
Shrewsbury continued their perfect start to the season and were a goal up after just three minutes but they were probably just a little bit worried when they lost their goalkeeper eighteen minutes later. Macclesfield had a few chances but were unable to find an equaliser.
Sam Wedgbury came off the bench for Macclesfield after 61 minutes. Tom Bradshaw stayed on the bench for Shrewsbury.
Morecambe 0-0 Rotherham United
Morecambe found promotion hopefuls Rotherham to be trickier customers than Coventry City but at least Morecambe managed to get their first point out of it.
Without Morecambe’s strong defensive performance, Rotherham could easily have scored but Darren Moss helped enure this didn’t happen.
Mark Bradley is yet to cement a place in Rotherham’s starting line-up. He stayed on the bench.

Gareth Owen was unlucky when an attempted clearance fell to a Chesterfield player who promptly put the shot away but he did his best to make up for it, coming close to scoring as well as trying to set up his team-mates. And he didn’t let in any other goals.
Chesterfield were without all their Welsh players. Craig Davies is still suspended after losing an appeal to have the card rescinded while Mark Crossley and Robert Page just didn’t make the squad.

League Two Results 7th August 2010 Part 1
Accrington Stanley 0-0 Aldershot Town
Aldershot’s record of winning every opening game of the League season came to an end yesterday. They do remain unbeaten in opening games… but this is only their third season in the League. It wasn’t the best game in the world but both clubs are officially on an unbeaten run. That’s pretty much all they can take from this game.
Darren Jones started for Aldershot and helped them to a clean sheet. Aaron Morris stayed on the bench but Aldershot manager Kevin Dillon only made one substitution. Who knows what would have happened if he’d made two?
Burton Albion 0-0 Oxford United
Burton remain the Football League’s newest recruit as the two teams that came up this season have played in the League before. And in the case of Oxford, they’ve played in the top division. They probably were the better side but not by as much as their history might suggest.
Burton manager Paul Peschisolido left Player of the Year Tony James on the bench.
Bury 0-1 Port Vale
Bury looked set for a play-off place at least last season while a late run from Port Vale meant that manager Micky Adams’ claim that Vale would make the play-offs didn’t seem so ridiculous after all. Neither made the play-offs but on this showing, Port Vale are more than capable of getting there this year. Bury looked less capable but it’s only the first week.
Gareth Owen played in defence for Port Vale. He did use his hand in a naughty sort of way like Thierry Henry but the referee didn’t see it and I’m sure he’ll never do anything like that again.

It wasn’t an ideal debut for loan keeper Rhys Taylor but he shouldn’t feel too discouraged. Without Rhys, it could have been much worse.
Ryan Green and Ryan Valentine played in defence for Hereford. Stuart Fleetwood made his second ‘debut’ for Hereford – actually his 45th appearance. He’ll be hoping to have doubled that by the end of the season and if he continues to play like this, he deserves it. He might be a striker but he defends. There are defenders who don’t do that.
Aldershot’s record of winning every opening game of the League season came to an end yesterday. They do remain unbeaten in opening games… but this is only their third season in the League. It wasn’t the best game in the world but both clubs are officially on an unbeaten run. That’s pretty much all they can take from this game.
Darren Jones started for Aldershot and helped them to a clean sheet. Aaron Morris stayed on the bench but Aldershot manager Kevin Dillon only made one substitution. Who knows what would have happened if he’d made two?
Burton Albion 0-0 Oxford United
Burton remain the Football League’s newest recruit as the two teams that came up this season have played in the League before. And in the case of Oxford, they’ve played in the top division. They probably were the better side but not by as much as their history might suggest.
Burton manager Paul Peschisolido left Player of the Year Tony James on the bench.
Bury 0-1 Port Vale
Bury looked set for a play-off place at least last season while a late run from Port Vale meant that manager Micky Adams’ claim that Vale would make the play-offs didn’t seem so ridiculous after all. Neither made the play-offs but on this showing, Port Vale are more than capable of getting there this year. Bury looked less capable but it’s only the first week.
Gareth Owen played in defence for Port Vale. He did use his hand in a naughty sort of way like Thierry Henry but the referee didn’t see it and I’m sure he’ll never do anything like that again.

League Two Fixtures 7th August 2010 Part 1
Accrington Stanley v Aldershot Town
According to my new favourite football blog, Aldershot are the best team in the league at winning their opening matches. They have also won all their pre-season games. Watch out Accrington!
Aldershot have signed two Welsh players following their releases from Walsall and Cardiff City. Darren Jones and Aaron Morris will be hoping to start.
Burton Albion v Oxford United
Burton start their second season in the Football League against newly-promoted Oxford.
Some journalist somewhere said Tony James would be on the bench for this match but I don’t know why. New signing Garyn Preen could also be in the squad although he’s pretty young.
Oxford centre back Rhys Day is expected to be out until September with a knee problem.
Bury v Port Vale
Both clubs will be hoping for a place in the play-offs this time around after just missing out last season.
Gareth Owen should play for Port Vale but Lewis Haldane is still recovering from blood poisoning.

Welsh Player News (and rumours) 2nd August, League Two (Part 1)
Aaron Morris made his first appearance for new club Aldershot Town in a 2-1 victory over League One’s Colchester United. He came on as a substitute in place of Darren Jones. Colchester’s squad included Lloyd James, Tom Bender and Lee Beevers.

Colchester United’s Tom Bender has been told he’ll have more first-team opportunities next season.
Tony Roberts has signed a one-year extension to his contract at Dagenham & Redbridge. The newly-promited Daggers have also signed a very Welsh-sounding left back from Histon – Gareth Gwillim. Histon’s Wikipedia page says Gareth is English but he must have some Welsh blood with a name like that.
Tony was delighted when Dagenham achieved promotion at Wembley last Sunday.
Ben Davies is one of just nine players under contract at Notts County. I suppose you could argue Ben has the skills of two players but even that only brings you up to ten...
Craig Morgan wants to leave Peterborough United following their relegation to League One. Peterborogh Today thinks his departure looks likely.

Michael Flynn says he hopes to stay at Bradford City next season but he needs to ‘iron out’ a few things in his contract first.

League Two Results 8th May Part 1
Burton Albion 3-0 Grimsby Town
Burton won their second consecutive game to secure a 13th place finish – and relegate Grimsby Town. A great escape was on the cards for Grimsby after an impressive recent run of form but they still needed another win – and for Barnet not to win (Barnet beat Rochdale 1-0).
Tony James played in defence for Burton.
Cheltenham Town 1-1 Accrington Stanley
Cheltenham went into the final game with a mathematical chance of being relegated. A draw was enough to guarantee their safety, but with Grimsby Town losing anyway it didn’t matter in the end. Accrington finish 15th.
Josh Low scored in the eighth minute in what could be his last professional football match. Josh is about to qualify a lawyer and has been offered a job for next season. However, he has also been offered a new contract at Cheltenham so let’s see what he decides. Josh was in the League Two Team of the Week following this match, along with Hereford United’s Darren Jones and Ryan Valentine.
Chesterfield 2-1 Bournemouth
Chesterfield still had a chance of the play-offs before this game, while a defeat for Bournemouth could have meant they finished 3rd instead of 2nd. But in the end, this result didn’t make any difference, except to the two teams involved. Wins for Morecambe and Dagenham & Redbridge meant that they took the two play-off spots up for grabs while another defeat for Rochdale meant they couldn’t climb above Bournemouth.
Robert Page kept his place in Chesterfield’s starting line-up with Mark Crossley on the bench.
Bournemouth were without Rhoys Wiggins, who returned to parent club Norwich City last week. Joe Partington was on the bench.

Both these teams were picked out by Football League Show pundits as being teams who finished lower than they should have done. When the teams met on the final day, Bradford took all three points the former Premier League side finished 14th. Former Championship side Crewe finished 18th.

Darlington might be long down but that doesn’t mean they can’t cause trouble when they want to, having recently done just that for Macclesfield Town, Cheltenham Town and Rochdale. Dagenham needed to win to be sure of taking the final play-off place. But this time, the best team won and Dag 7 Red could be in League One next season.
Tony Roberts didn’t have loads to do in goal for Dagenham & Redbridge but when called upon, he was always awake.
Hereford United 3-0 Rotherham United
It might not have been a great season for Hereford but they did secure survival some time ago and they ended the season with a comprehensive win over one of the teams in the play-offs. So it’s not all bad. Rotherham got into the play-offs anyway but they’re probably very glad the league doesn’t have 39 games a season.
Darren Jones scored Hereford’s second goal in the 21st minute. Ryan Green and Ryan Valentine also played in defence with Craig Jones on the bench. Darren, Ryan V and Cheltenham’s Josh Low are all in the League Two Team of the Week. I hope Ryan G doesn’t feel left out.

Last week, Burton beat the club in second place. This week, they finish the club who’s second bottom. Grimsby really need a win to survive although a draw will be fine if Barnet lose 7-0 or something. The team Burton beat last week, Rochdale, play Barnet this week.
Tony James is the Players’ Player of the Year and the Supporters’ Player of the Year for Burton. He’s hoping Burton can aim for the play-offs next season.
Cheltenham Town v Accrington Stanley
Cheltenham should be fine too unless they get seriously thrashed. Accrington still have a chance of a top-half finish.
Josh Low could be playing his last match for Cheltenham. Josh is about to qualify as a lawyer and he’s been offered a job in that profession.

League Two Results 1st May Part 1
Accrington Stanley 2-0 Chesterfield
Chesterfield still have a chance of play-off football – the twists and turns of League Two probably aren’t over quite yet. Another result like that for Accrington could give them a top-half finish.
Robert Page was back in the starting line-up for Chesterfield. Mark Crossley was on the bench.
Aldershot Town 3-1 Lincoln City
Aldershot’s win means they are guaranteed to be in the League Two play-offs, alongside Rotherham United and any two from six other teams. Lincoln will finish 20th or 21st.
David Stephens was given another start for Lincoln after en excellent performance when he was thrown into the starting eleven last week.
Bournemouth 4-0 Port Vale
Bournemouth’s emphatic win over Port Vale puts them in second place, a point ahead of third-placed Rochdale. Vale are still only two points outside the play-offs.
Rhoys Wiggins played what I believe is his last game for Bournemouth, due to the silly loan rules. It seems as if you sign someone on loan until the end of the season, they can’t actually stay until the end of the season, they can only stay until a certain date. Which is fine if you’re on loan to a Championship side, as I think the cut-off date came after they’d finished their season (play-offs aside). Rhoys was substituted in the 87th minute but I would guess that was so he could be given a deserved standing ovation rather than because he was injured. Rhoys celebrated his final match for Bournemouth with the assist for Bournemouth’s opening goal. But he hinted he’d be more than happy to be back with Bournemouth next season. With Norwich going up to the Championship (not that Rhoys isn’t good enough for the Championship) and Bournemouth now without a transfer embargo, anything is possible.

Bradford are unlikely to get into the top half of the table although it is mathematically possible but this sort of game will stand them in good stead for next season. Bradford are now unbeaten in five matches. Northampton could still get into the play-offs mathematically but it’s very unlikely that every result will go their way.
Michael Flynn was in Bradford’s midfield while Peter Gilbert played in defence for Northampton.
