Championship Fixtures 2nd October 2010 Part 1

Barnsley v Cardiff City
Cardiff need a win to be sure of staying at the top of the table but they’ve lost their last two away games. Barnsley however are yet to lose at home.
Craig Bellamy isn’t expected to recover from his knee injury in time for this match – and in some ways I’d be quite annoyed if he did recover as he’s withdrawn from the Wales squad.
Darcy Blake should keep his place in defence and perhaps Jason Koumas will be ready for a second consecutive start. Adam Matthews and Aaron Wildig most likely on the bench.

Bristol City v Norwich City

Bristol City are without a home win this season but at least that’s a lot better than Norwich’s record there – they haven’t won at Ashton Gate for 30 years.
Christian Ribeiro will hope to keep his place in the starting line-up and maybe Brett Pitman will be given the chance of another ninety minutes. It’s not like they have an unbeaten run to preserve. Lewin Nyatanga and Sam Vokes probably aren’t ready to return from knee and hamstring injuries respectively.
Andrew Crofts should keep his place in Norwich’s midfield.

Crystal Palace v Queen’s Park Rangers
If QPR lose this match, there will be no unbeaten teams left in the Championship. If they win, it will be the first time since the seventies that they’ve gone ten games without losing for the start of the season. Palace only need to score twice to double the number of goals QPR have conceded this season and they’re probably due a goal.as they haven’t scored in the league since they played Portsmouth and pretty much everyone scores against Portsmouth.
Palace have a number of injuries which should increase Andy Dorman’s chances of getting a first start for three matches. Lewis Price probably has reason to hope he might get a chance in goal soon.
