League Two Results 30th January Part 1

Cheltenham Town P-P Darlington
Cheltenham’s pitch was frozen so the game against Darlington was postponed. Darlington, who was promotion contenders last season until their points-deduction, don’t seem to have much chance of staying up but if they want to, Josh Low and David Pipe’s Cheltenham could be the team that go down in their place. Second-bottom Grimsby, however, are a more immediate problem for Cheltenham.
Josh recently went to a school as part of a reading week and read three chapters of Fantastic Mr Fox. He also revealed he is studying for a law degree.

Crewe Alexandra 1-2 Bournemouth
Rhoys Wiggins made his debut for Bournemouth after joining on-loan from Norwich and without his vital block, it might have been a draw. Rhoys was hoping to join Bournemouth in the summer after a successful loan spell but it wasn’t possible so he went to Norwich. He will only be with Bournemouth for seven matches but he hopes to help them win all seven and he’s certainly doing well so far.
The win keeps Bournemouth four points ahead of third-placed Rotherham and Bury although Rotherham have games in hand.. Joe Partington wasn’t in Bournemouth’s squad due to a back injury but there was plenty of space on the bench – Bournemouth named just four substitutes.

Lincoln City P-P Dagenham & Redbridge
Lincoln’s was another game to be called off because of a frozen pitch so Tony Roberts’ Dag & Red will have to face them another time.

Morecambe 0-1 Chesterfield
Chesterfield went down to 10 men just before half-time but Robert Page and his team-mates held on for a win at Morecambe which keeps them in the play-off places. Mark Crossley was on the bench for Chesterfield and Darren Moss was among Morecambe’s substitutes.

Northampton Town 1-1 Burton Albion
Burton came very close to winning this match, despite the fact Tony James was one of few fully-fit defenders. But Peter Gilbert’s Northampton got an equaliser with two minutes to go.
