Arron Davies is training with Yeovil Town but it looks as though he won’t be able to sign for them after all. The FA decided it was against the rules, even though other players have been able to do it, and Yeovil manager Terry Skiverton’s appeals have so far come to nothing. Maybe he could sign up for a League of Wales side, then they could loan him to Yeovil. (Yeah and maybe Yeovil will get promoted to the Championship.)
Alex Titchener came off the bench after 56 minutes to inspire loan side Colwyn Bay (who were down to 10 men) to a 2-1 win over Harrogate Railway. The 18 year old is on loan from Crewe Alexandra,
Two Scottish Premier League clubs are reportedly interested in goalkeeper Kyle Letheren, out of contract after Plymouth refused to honour a promise to extend his contract with them. One of the Scottish sides is Kilmarnock, I’m not sure about the others. Some League Two clubs showed an interest but Kyle would rather not drop that far down the League.

Transfers that Actually Hapened Part 2
Part 1
Aaron Morris is on loan at Newport County. His loan expires in February but Newport are hoping Cardiff City will allow them to keep Aaron for longer.
Shaun MacDonald had a successful loan spell with Yeovil Town earlier this season and was very happy when Swansea City agreed to let him go back. He hasn’t scored since his return but I’m sure the goals won’t be far away
Jonathan North has been sent out on loan by Watford to Oxford City
Jason Price has only been making the occasional appearance for Millwall but he should have a good run in Oldham Athletic’s side during his month-long loan.
Christisn Ribeiro completed a successful (if winless) loan spell with Stockport County and returned to Bristol City to sit on the bench before being sent out on loan again, this time to Colchester United. It was all going well but Christian has now suffered a groin injury. At first it was thought he could be out for the duration of his loan spell but now it’s not unlikely he’ll return for Colchester’s next game.
Alex Titchener went on loan from Crewe Alexandra to Welsh side Colwyn Bay.
Owain Tudur Jones and Rhoys Wiggins were struggling to get back into Norwich’s side after injury, so both have gone out on loan to the West

League Two Fixtures 16th January
Bournemouth v Bury
Joe Partington is a doubt but I’m not sure why.
Bradford City v Notts County
Former Premier League side Bradford City take on so-called future Premier League side Notts County. Michael Flynn has denied reports that he wants to leave Bradford. Brighton and Swindon are interested but Michael would rather stay at Bradford as he likes it there.
Burton Albion v Shrewsbury Town
Burton’s Tony James and Shrewsbury’s Will Richards could be up against each other in this match. Obviously I mean that in the politest possible way.
Chesterfield v Torquay United
This game isn’t definitely on but it isn’t definitely off either and that’s progress. Robert Page is likely to start for Chesterfield but it’s hard to know with goalkeeper Mark Crossley.
Dagenham & Redbridge v Crewe Alexandra
Watch out, Crewe Alexandra fans Dag & Redbridge goalkeeper Tony Roberts wants to ‘interact’ with you. Crewe’s young striker Alex Tichener is playing for Colwyn Bay on loan.
Grimsby Town v Cheltenham Town
It’s one of those six-pointer relegation battle thingies and Josh Low and loan signing David Pipe will be doing their best to ensure Cheltenham aren’t the losing side. Grimsby’s Chris Jones will be on loan at Neath until the end of the season.
Macclesfield Town v Northampton Town
Northampton have a new defender who could start but he’s a centre back and Peter Gilbert is a left back so it should work out okay.
Rochdale v Port Vale
How nice to have a fixture that rhymes, it’s something I’ve not seen many times. Vale now have two players on loan whose country is the same as my own. Brighton loanee Craig Davies is able to play in the match against Rochdale on Saturday. Gareth Owen and loanee Lewis Haldane will also, I hope, appear in this game.

Welsh Transfer Rumours 11th January
Arron Davies, who was released by Nottingham Forest in December, is rumoured to have attracted the interest of Leeds United. It’s a surprise but a very nice one.
The father of Kyle Letheren is angry with Plymouth Argyle for releasing their son, after a verbal agreement that his contract would be extended. Kyle turned down approaches from other clubs as he believed he was going to be at Plymouth for the time being. However, he shouldn’t be without a club for long. Wolves, Falkirk and Hibernian have all showed interest. Wolves already have a brilliant Welsh goalkeeper but maybe they can find space for one more. Just think, if Wolves stay in the Premier League, Kyle will be two whole divisions above the team that released him.
Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies seems certain that Gareth Bale will be joining them this transfer window. Unlikely, considering that this would leave Tottenham without a left back. Not that I mind too much if Tottenham don’t have any left backs.
It doesn’t seem likely that Joe Ledley will still be at Cardiff when the transfer window closes. And if he is, it’ll be because of his injury and impending operation rather than because no-one wants him. Just two of those clubs rumoured to be interested are Blackburn Rovers and Celtic.
Cardiff are just hoping he won’t go abroad as then they won’t get any compensation if he leaves on a free transfer. Celtic apparently counts as abroad but presumably ‘abroad’ refers to clubs outside the English league rather than clubs outside Wales.
Arsenal and Manchester United are again being linked heavily with Adam Matthews. Adam is a very good player who would certainly have chances at Arsenal and probably Manchester United too – they have some more experienced right backs but they’re usually injured.
Wolves manager Mick McCarthy offered Leeds United £300000 plus Sam Vokes but Simon Grayson turned him down. However, as the move would have involved Jermaine Beckford going the other way, maybe you can’t blame Grayson for wanting a just little bit more.
Fans of Blackburn Rovers and Middlesbrough have expressed their admiration for Jason Koumas. Time will tell if the managers agree but I hope they do. It’s sad seeing Jason playing so little for Wigan. He’s too good for their bench.
Cardiff City’s Aaron Morris has signed on loan for Newport County. This actually happened around 23rd December but I only just found out about it.
Ben Thatcher probably won’t be at Ipswich for long if Roy Keane can help it. The midfielder reportedly only coming into training “when he fancies it, and when the traffic’s not too bad.” But be warned: this quote has only been used by the Daily Mail and the Sun. So it could be bollocks.
Yeovil have fought off competition from other clubs to re-sign Shaun MacDonald on loan from Swansea City.
If Bradford City want to keep Michael Flynn they need to act fast – he’s about to leave on a free transfer.
Bristol Rovers’ David Pipe has had his loan to Cheltenham extended until the end of the season.
Crewe Alexandra’s young striker Alex Tichiner has gone to Colwyn Bay on loan.

League Two Results 12th December
Barnet 1-2 Crewe Alexandra
Alex Tichener was on Crewe’s bench for the first time since I’ve been doing these blogs. He stayed on the bench the whole time but it’s great for the 18 year old just to be part of the matchday squad.
Chesterfield 1-0 Cheltenham Town
I told you didn’t I Chesterfield? Play Mark Crossley in goal. And it worked – a win and a clean sheet for Chesterfield. Cheltenham’s Josh Low probably isn’t quite so happy with me but he isn’t a bad goalkeeper himself, going by his goal-line clearance.
Dagebnham & Redbridge 3-1 Bury
A good win for Dagenham at last. Goalkeeper Tony Roberts didn’t get a clean sheet but they still one by two clear goals. Daniel Nardiello scored in the second minute of first-half stoppage time. It was Daniel’s fourth goal in six games but sadly it wasn’t what you might call a matcwinner. Dagenham scored too many goals for that. Still, Dagenham were probably glad to see Daniel substituted after 73 minutes. I just hope he isn’t injured…
Morecambe 5-0 Bournemouth
Joe Partington apparently isn’t in full training for Bournemouth yet following an injury but that did not stop him from coming off the bench for Bournemouth – but with just four players on the bench the manager didn’t have a lot of choice. It seemed to help though. Morecambe only scored one goal after Joe came on.
Northampton Town 1-1 Port Vale
Northampton’s Peter Gilbert was taken off after 56 minutes so I hope he’s okay. Gareth Owen was back following his cheek operation but he didn’t score. Both the goals in this game were penalties.
