Fulham 3-2 West Ham United
Fulham’s first home win over West Ham for 44 years (although they probably spent at least half that time in different divisions) means they are now just a point behind 10th-placed Blackburn Rovers – and they would have stayed tenth if Blackburn didn’t have the nerve to beat Arsenal.
Simon Davies got the assist for Fulham’s first goal. He was substituted once Fulham were 3-1 ahead, probably to make sure he didn’t get too tired for the Europa League final.
Danny Gabbidon was on the bench for West Ham. Daily Star revealed that Danny is earning £50,000 a week but I wouldn’t pay too much attention to that rag. It talks nearly as much rubbish as I do.
Sunderland 0-1 Manchester United
Sunderland could still finish in the top half of the table although Blackburn’s subsequent win over Arsenal was far from convenient. Manchester United are just a point behind Chelsea..
Ryan Giggs played the full match for Manchester United. Owen Hargreaves finally made his comeback from injury with a 93rd minute cameo. He was only on for a minute but it’s enough for many to consider him an outsider for England. Owen, if you’d decided to play for Wales you would be a lot more than an outsider! For the qualifiers anyway.
