Fulham 0-1 Stoke City
We all know what Fulham are thinking about at the moment and it clearly wasn’t Stoke City. To be fair, this match did look like it was going to be a draw but it’s not often a team with an excellent home record is beaten at home by a team with a poor away record.
The win puts Stoke into tenth place but Fulham are also still in contention to finish in the top ten.
Simon Davies played the full match for Fulham and gave his team-mates a number of opportunities to score. BBC Sport’s line-up suggested he was playing as a striker – he was a right back last month!
Ryan Shawcross played in defence for Stoke City. Danny Collins was on the bench again.
Manchester City 0-1 Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham’s win means that they will be playing in the Champions’ League next season, while Manchester City will have to content themselves with the Europa League.
Craig Bellamy played most of the match for Manchester City before picking up an injury which makes him a doubt for Wales’ friendly against Croatia. But given that it is a Wales friendly, the chances of Craig playing even if he was fit probably aren’t very high. BBC Sport said he was guilty of ‘wretched defending’ but come on, he is a striker. A striker who happens to be playing on the left wing, but still a striker.
Gareth Bale got an assist for a disallowed goal and came very close to scoring for both sides, after a cross from Craig Bellamy perhaps confused him for a moment and made him think he was playing for Wales. He had a great game though and was unlucky not to score for his own side.
