Welsh Player News 9th September 2010 (League One)

Bournemouth defender Rhoys Wiggins wants to play for Wales! Not that I’m surprised but I never get tired of hearing things like that. So far he has ignored his family’s claims that he’s playing with the wrong-shaped ball.

Brentford manager Andy Scott says new signing Nicky Adams can only get better. But he meant it in a good way.

Ben Davies was proud to score twice for Notts County as they celebrated 100 years of playing at Meadow Lane. Ben thinks Notts County have a chance of beating the mighty Charlton Athletic at the Valley. Manager Craig Short is very glad Ben is still at the club. Derby did make an offer for him which was rejected but luckily they didn’t come back with an offer he couldn’t refuse. Ben is hoping to score at least 17 goals for Notts County this season. He’s got four already.

Joe Jacobson says Oldham Athletic are feeling very confident after an unbeaten start to the season. Joe says he wants to get back into the first team, despite spending the summer on the transfer list.

Peterborough United’s Arron Davies is likely to be out for three weeks. He's understandably frustrated.

Carl Fletcher is back in training for Plymouth Argyle after recovering from a thigh injury. He could be ready for the next match but manager Peter Reid doesn’t want to risk him.

An article about Ryan Doble’s participation in the Wales under-21 match against Italy was posted on the Southampton website.

Ash Taylor is fed up with life on the sidelines. The young defender/midfielder is one of many Tranmere players on what must be a very crowded treatment table. Ash’s knee is on the mend but he’s got a way to go yet.

Kayleden Brown has returned to West Bromwich Albion after his one-month loan to Tranmere came to an end. They wanted to keep him but he’d have ended up missing half the matches because of Wales’ under-21 matches.

Owain Tudur Jones says his good friendship with the Yeovil Town technical coach was the main reson for his move (though I’m sure his footballing skills played a small part). He’s looking forward to sharing the pitch with Shaun MacDonald again.
