Brentford v Tranmere Rovers
Brentford don’t especially need to win this match but they might enjoy moving above Milton Keynes Dons, who were probably something like local rivals when they were known as Wimbledon. Tranmere will move out of the relegation zone if they win.
Lewis Price probably won’t get into Brentford’s squad but they should feel free to prove me wrong. Ash Taylor should play for Tranmere though.
Southampton v Oldham Athletic
It looks as though Southampton could get into the play-offs after all. Even if they lose this game, they can still do it. But I don’t think it’s very likely. Oldham will be pretty much safe if they win this match – Tranmere could catch them on points but Oldham would have to lose their remaining games 5-0 or 6-0 with Tranmere winning 5-0 or 6-0. Or something like that.
Lloyd James could be left out of Southampton’s squad again as if the rumours about his ankle are true, he really isn’t fit enough to play. Oldham’s own young Welshman, Joe Jacobson, also won’t bit fit enough to play after an operation on his groin.
