Barnsley 1-2 Cardiff City
What was Craig Bellamy doing there? Cardiff manager Dave Jones told Brian Flynn that he wouldn’t be fit for Wales. So he really shouldn’t have been playing in this match. Craig played all 94 minutes and he took his goal well – yes, he’s fit enough to score goals – but he still can’t play for Wales.
Barnsley’s unbeaten home record came to an end as Cardiff held on to win despite the dismissal of Darcy Blake for two debatable bookable offences.
Jason Koumas and Aaron Wildig were unusued substitites but Adam Matthews was left out of the squad.
Bristol City 0-3 Norwich City
Bristol City’s struggles continue as Norwich’s away victory – their first of the season – leaves Bristol City at the bottom of the table.
Christian Ribeiro was dropped to the bench for Bristol City. His fellow substitute Brett Pitman made another late appearance.
Andrew Crofts got the assist for Norwich’s opening goal.
Crystal Palace 1-2 Queen’s Park Rangers
Palace are in the bottom three after losing to runaway leaders and manager stealers QPR.
Andy Dorman was back in the starting line-up for Palace. Lewis Price was on the bench.
Doncaster Roers 1-1 Nottingham Forest
Another game, another draw for Nottingham Forest, who are up to 11th despite winning only twice this season.
John Oster had another great game for Doncaster, getting the assist for the goal and nearly scoring himself. Brian Stock was on the bench again but he did make a substitute appearance this time.
Chris Gunter played in defence for Forest but Robert Earnshaw, as expected, didn’t return from a hamstring injuty in time so he must also be a big doubt for Wales. But if he isn’t fit, Wales could always recall Craig Bellamy. He seems fine.
