Welsh Player News 2nd October (Premier League)

It’s not just the wags who like their footwear. James Collins says his new boots have helped him to overcome the injury problems he suffered at the beginning of the season.

Bolton Wanderers defender Sam Ricketts says that nothing is more important than getting the right results. Sam feels last weekend’s shock results were good for the Premier League.

It is thought Michael Owen has so far failed in his bid to convince Fabio Capello he should be playing for England. Alex Ferguson feels Michael has improved as a player since joining Manchester United. But Soccerlens say it is Michael’s own fault that he’s not playing for club or country – he picked the wrong club.

Darren Fletcher is delighted to see Owen Hargreaves back in training for Manchester United.

Tony Pulis believes Ryan Shawcross will grow into his new role as Stoke City captain.

Harry Redknapp says Gareth Bale has a great future ahead of him – and he won’t be leaving Tottenham anytime soon.

Danny Gabbidon is hoping to West Ham United and win himself a new deal. Danny has spent much of the past three seasons on the sidelines.

David Jones says the Wolves players can be flexible friends… which sounds a bit naughty to me and he does mention the word ‘grinding’.

His team-mate Dave Edwards is also feeling positive about the match against Wigan Athletic. He is hoping to become a regular in the starting line-up for Wolves.
