Premier League Fixtures 3rd April Part 2

Manchester United v Chelsea
I don’t mind what the result of his match is as long as it’s a draw. Or maybe if both teams decide not to show up like Middlesbrough in 1996-97 and they get three points deducted, that would be even better. Trouble is, if these two request a fixture change, they’ll almost certainly get one.
Ryan Giggs could play in a second striker role against Chelsea but if not, he’s almost certain to play somewhere else. There could be a place on the bench for Owen Hargreaves, who could have played for Wales but decided not to. Owen has been out for 19 months with a calf injury. Manchester United have lost a different key player to injury but he’s English so I won’t bother mentioning him. Everyone knows anyway.
I’m not sure if Rhys Taylor is fit yet but both Chelsea’s first-choice keepers seem to have recovered so it’s back to the reserves for Rhys. For now.

Portsmouth v Blackburn Rovers

A defeat for Portsmouth could see them relegated before the weekend is out. Blackburn have a far more interesting problem on their minds – how to stay in the top half of the table.
Blackburn goalkeeper Paul Robinson could be back but if I was Sam Allardyce (which I’m not), I would keep Jason Brown in goal after a string of good performances.

Stoke City v Hull City
Two of last season’s promoted sides face off as Hull search for a second successive win and the chance to move above West Ham United, whose wheels seem not only to have fallen off, they’ve got punctures too. Stoke will be hoping Rory Delap can throw them into the top half of the table.
Ryan Shawcross is still a doubt with an ankle injury but Stoke have Danny Collins to deputise (although Danny could play at left back rather than directly replacing Ryan in the centre).
Boaz Myhill will play in goal for Hull.

Sunderland v Tottenham Hotspur

Sunderland are looking safe again but they’ll be lucky to beat Tottenham Hotspur, who have won their last five league matches.
The last time Tottenham won six in a row, Gareth Bale was only a baby. But he’s out of nappies now and is one of the stars of the first team. So he’ll play.
