Championship Fixtures 3rd April Part 1

Bristol City v Nottingham Forest
Bristol City are probably out of the play-offs and Nottingham Forest are probably out of the promotion race. But probably doesn’t mean definitely.
Lewin Nyatanga has recovered from an Achilles injury and is in the squad to face Nottingham Forest. If Lewin’s fit to play, Christian Ribeiro could lose his place in the starting line-up after an impressive run of performances.
Chris Gunter could stay at left back for Forest and I hope Robert Earnshaw will start (a sentiment which I’m sure he echoes).

Cardiff City v Swansea City
Both clubs have a good chance of finishing in the play-offs whatever happens but the South Wales derby is likely to be an exciting match all the same, although I personally will be more excited if Cardiff are the team in the lead. Cardiff have been the side on better form lately but we all know where the form book goes in games like this.
Joe Ledley will return this month for Cardiff but although he hoped to be ready for this game, it looks very unlikely to happen. Darcy Blake has seen a chiropractor about his neck injury and has a good chance of returning although Adam Matthews probably deserves a start after replacing Darcy in their midweek game. Aaron Wildig will probably be on the bench again.
Ashley Williams is likely to start for Swansea and Joe Allen is also in with a chance of starting after a substitute appearance in his last match – Joe is probably not the only player who would love to score the winning goal against Cardiff but much as I like Joe, I’m kind of hoping he doesn’t. But he can have a hat-trick if he likes as long as Cardiff score more goals than Swansea. David Cotterill is another option but I think Jazz Richards is still injured.
