Chelsea v Cardiff City
Chelsea will play a weakened side – but so will Cardiff. With their injury list, they have little choice. Joe Ledley of course is out with a hip injury. He says both operations went well and he’s hoping to play again as early as April but he definitely won’t be able to play tomorrow.
Darcy Blake was substituted early in their last match with a back injury but he should be fit to play. And even if he’s not fit, he might play anyway, Cardiff are that desperate. Aaron Wildig, Adam Matthews and Jonathan Meades are in the provisional squad but Cardiff manager Dave Jones that he won’t have to add any more teenagers, despite rumours that Zak Evans could be travelling to London with them.
Vital Cardiff are considering getting one Chelsea goalkeeper sent off before injuring his replacement. Not that I’m in any way condoning this not exactly serious suggestion but if it happens, not only could Cardiff win, it could also mean Rhys Taylor gets a place on Chelsea’s squad for their next game.
Derby County v Birmingham City
Derby will be feeling extra confident after despatching Newcastle United 3-0 in their last match. Birmingham on the other hand have just lost to West Ham. So are we about to witness another giant-killing? Robbie Savage believes it could happen. He also believes he deserves a good reception from the Birmingham fans but I doubt he’ll find many people to agree with him. (I agree with him but I won’t be there.)
