League One Results 13th February Part 2

Oldham Athletic 1-0 Walsall

Jason Price didn’t get the goal – although Walsall goalkeeper had to make a good save to stop him from scoring – but Oldham still got an important three points. Walsall were without injured defender Rhys Weston and Mark Bradley was again on the bench.

Southend United 1-1 Tranmere Rovers
The points were shared by the struggling sides but Tranmere are still only in the relegation places on goal difference. Sanchez Watt, on loan from Arsenal, played the first 53 minutes for Southend but he had to be substituted after suffering an ankle injury. Southend said they’d know more the following day – which happens to be Sanchez’ birthday. Let’s hope it’s a happy one. Tranmere were without their own influential Welsh teenager, Ash Taylor, who has a hamstring injury.

Stockport County 2-2 Colchester United
Owain fon Williams helped Stockport to get yet another point with some great saves – and it wasn’t a bad one either as they were playing Colchester. It’s just a shame he was at fault for the equaliser but still, any points are welcome. It would be difficult to call it a ‘vital’ point as I can’t really see them surviving but it’s nice to see they’re still fighting to get what they can from the season. Christian Ribeiro and Lee Beevers were both missing from Colchester’s side due to injury.

Yeovil Town 0-0 Gillingham
Arron Davies was expected to appear in Yeovil’s squad after finally signing for them but worryingly he was missing from the squad, which included just six substitutes. Poor Arron, it would be awful if he was injured in the warm-up or something, just when things finally seemed to be going right for him. Nathan Jones was also missing but Shaun MacDonald and Owain Tudur Jones both played as Yeovil got a draw against struggling Gillingham. Too many of those and it’ll be ‘struggling Yeovil’ too.
