Scotland sack manager George Burley

Scotland have sacked George Burley following Scotland's defeat to Wales. It’s not fair. He didn’t deserve that. Scotland were playing against the best team in the world! On a more serious note, whilst Scotland did have their crappy moments, they had more of the possession, created more chances than Wales and were unlucky really to have nothing to show for it.

Scotland didn’t do badly in the qualifiers either – they are a relatively small team but they came close to qualifying.

Wales were brilliant against Scotland and played well enough to win – I don’t mean this in a disrespectful way but they could have beaten better teams than Scotland with such an inspired performance.

But I think Scotland played well enough against Wales to get a point – for all their skill and brilliance, Wales had luck on their side too to score three times. And if Dave Edwards hadn’t changed the game with his goal, Scotland might easily have scored first and we could have had a very different result.
