Aston Villa v Liverpool
With two matches so close together, it would make sense to give James Collins the chance to play. He’s brilliant and he’ll be fresh. But as most managers seem to have stuck with their first-choice players, James might easily find himself on the bench again.
Bolton Wanderers v Hull City
Sam Ricketts is another substitute who deserves playing time and might actually get some if the other Bolton players are sufficiently exhausted.
Boaz Myhill deserves to play after making some brilliant saves on Sunday but as he didn’t exactly get a quiet day against Manchester U so it’s not impossible that he might be rested.
