FA Cup Results 2nd February

Crystal Palace 3-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers (replay)
I really wanted Wayne Hennessey and Sam Vokes to prove to Wolves manager Mick McCarthy they they are worthy of a place in the first team but what happened was in many ways even more special. Crystal Palace are in administration and they’ve just sold their best player Victor Moses but they played like the Championship title depended on it and deserved their win. The sadly-English Danny Butterfield scored his first, second and third goals for Crystal Palace – in the space of about five minutes. Victor who?

Wigan Athletic 0-2 Notts County (replay)

Jason Koumas finally got another start but only as part of a very weakened team. At least, Wigan fans will be hoping it was a very, very weakened team that got knocked out of the FA Cup by League Two Notts County. Because if not, Wigan are in trouble. But well done to Notts County – this was no case of winning by default.
