Preston North End 1-4 Barnsley
Barnsley have been slowly but surely climbing the table but this would still have been a very disappointing and worrying result for Preston fans. There are teams in worse trouble and Preston do have quite a few injuries to key players including Paul Parry but I should think Preston fans would rather suffer yet more play-off heartache than to see their team in this position.
Watford 3-0 Sheffield United
Sheffield United’s season has been up and down and the only thing that looks certain is that they won’t go down yet they perhaps lack the consistency to go up. Ched Evans made a substitute appearance but the game was really over by then.
