Leeds United 1-3 Tottenham Hotspur (replay)
At the second time of asking, Tottenham finally proved their superiority over Manchester United and told the League One side where to get off. Tottenham were easily the better side and deserved their win but Leeds didn’t look like a League One side. When they do get back to the Championship, I doubt they’ll be there for long, they’ll be after another promotion and on this showing, they’ll get one.
It almost doesn’t seem worth pointing out by now as most people were probably expecting Gareth Bale to be one of the best players. His running up the wing, overlapping and crossing was beautiful to watch and one of his blocks in particular was crucial. If he hadn’t made it, this match could have gone into extra time.
