Carling Cup Fixtures 24th August 2010 Part 2

Milton Keynes Dons v Blackpool
Not so very long ago, Milton Keynes Dons, as Wimbledon, were in the Premier League. Blackpool could only dream of now their positions are reversed and a win for MK Dons would be a giant-killing. We usually like a bit of romantic giant-killing in football but with Blackpool already the star of their own romance (even if they did have their hearts vaguely broken by Arsenal), maybe people aren’t hoping for a giant-killing at all.
Jermaine Easter will be hoping to break his goal drought for MK Dons.
If Ian Holloway opts tor rest some of his stars such as David Vaughan, there could be places in the starting line-up for Neal Eardley and Rob Edwards.

Morecambe v Burnley
Morecambe and Burnley play each other for the first time ever in this match. Morecambe have already seen off Coventry City although they haven’t beaten anyone else all season.
Darren Moss shoud keep his place in Morecambe’s defence.

Peterborough United v Cardiff City
Imagine little Peterborough taking on big bad Craig Bellamy and winning. But I love Cardiff so this is another giant-killing I definitely don’t want to see.
Arron Davies played well in his first start for Peterborough so maybe he’ll keep his place.
Craig might be rested for this clash due to his longstanding knee problems but I’m sure he’ll want to play. Jason Koumas might even be able to start this time if his fitness is good enough. If not, maybe Adam Matthews will keep his place in the starting line-up.
Darcy Blake was a late dropout from Cardiff’s last match with an ankle problem and he is expected to miss out again. Aaron Wildig has returned to training after recovering from a knee injury but he won’t be ready for tomorrow’s match.
