Championship Fixtures 28th August 2010 Part 3

Portsmouth v Cardiff City
Cardiff hope to build on last weekend’s comprehensive victory over Doncaster Rovers when they take on Portsmouth. Cardiff are currently in second place while Portsmouth sit in the bottom three.
Craig Bellamy was rested for Cardiff’s midweek Carling Cup defeat but he should return for this match. Darcy Blake is likely to miss out again with an ankle injury which increases the likelihood of Adam Matthews keeping his place in the starting line-up. Jason Koumas also started midweek and could do again although he found the 90 minutes tough after so long without a game. Aaron Wildig made an unexpected return from injury midweek and is likely to be in the squad again.

Scunthorpe United v Crystal Palace
Both teams survived relegation last season but it came far too close to comfort. Scunthorpe were only safe for the last game of the season because Palace and Sheffield Wednesday were playing each other. Palace saved themselves by winning that match.
Andy Dorman should keep his place in Palace’s midfield. Lewis Price will probably be on the bench.

Sheffield United v Preston North End
Both teams have spent a lot of time in the play-offs recently but both started poorly. Sheffield United are bottom with one point. Preston held this position last weekend until a very welcome win over Portsmouth.
Ched Evans will probably play up front for Sheffield Utd. Preston defender Craig Morgan will be trying to stop him from scoring. Paul Parry might or might not be in Preston’s squad.
