Montenegro v Wales Squad Announced

The Wales Euro 2010 squad to face Montenegro away has been announced.

Goalkeepers: Jason Brown (Blackburn), Wayne Hennessey (Wolves), Boaz Myhill (West Brom)
Defenders: Gareth Bale (Tottenham), Darcy Blake (Cardiff), James Collins (Aston Villa), Neal Eardley (Blackpool), Danny Gabbidon (West Ham), Chris Gunter (Nottm Forest), Craig Morgan (Preston), Sam Ricketts (Bolton), AshleyWilliams (Swansea)
Midfielders: David Cotterill (Swansea), Andrew Crofts (Norwich), Andy Dorman (Crystal Palace), Dave Edwards (Wolves), Andy King (Leicester), Joe Ledley (Celtic), Brian Stock (Doncaster), David Vaughan (Blackpool),
Forwards: Craig Bellamy (Cardiff), Simon Church (Reading), Robert Earnshaw (Nottm Forest), Ched Evans (Sheff Utd), Steve Morison (Millwall).

Andy Dorman should be thrilled with his call-up after being out of the next squad and it’s no more than he deserves, he’s done well for Crystal Palace and I love how he loves his country. Steve Morison also said he was hoping to be included.

David Cotterill, only called up as a replacement last time, is in the squad from the start and quite right too.

Also good to see Jason Brown in the squad, I’m sure he’ll behave better than a certain Blackburn team-mate.

Darcy Blake has another chance to win his first cap after being forced to withdraw with injury last time while James Collins and Danny Gabbidon, missing from the last squad due to injury, are back in.

So is new Cardiff City recruit Craig Bellamy although the Championship do have a more rigorous game schedule so it wouldn’t surprise me totally (although it would disappoint me) if he needed to rest during at least some of the international breaks.

Gareth Bale, Dave Edwards, Simon Church and Ched Evans also return from injury and will be joined in the squad by fellow-regulars Wayne Hennessey, Boaz Myhill, Chris Gunter, Sam Ricketts, Ashley Williams, Andy King, Joe Ledley and Robert Earnshaw.

And, given the number of times they have appeared in recent squads, you can pretty much call Neal Eardley, Craig Morgan, Andrew Crofts, Brian Stock and David Vaughan regulars too.

Lewin Nyatanga (Derby County), Jack Collison (West Ham United), Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal) and Sam Vokes (Bristol City, on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers) would probably have been included were they not sidelined by knee (Lewin and Jack), leg (Aaron) and calf (Sam) injuries.
