League One Fixtures 6th February Part 1

Brentford v Gillingham
Lewis Price will probably be on the bench again for loan side Brentford – unless he’s left out as Brentford have seven loanees and can only put five of them in the squad. Lewis has been playing reserve games for Brentford but he could probably have done that if he’d stayed at Derby. (Not that I’m not happy to see Arsenal’s Wojciech Szczesny doing so well.)

Exeter City v Southampton
Rob Edwards is hoping for a place in Exeter’s defence alongside Richard Duffy and there could be another start for Andy Marriott in goal. They only got a draw last week but that was an improvement. Stuart Fleetwood should also be in the squad unless he’s on duty with the reserves.
Lloyd James has recovered from an ankle injury and is in contention to start. I would start him – Southampton have missed him.

Leyton Orient v Brighton & Hove Albion
Not long ago, this would have been a relegation clash but since Nicky Adams joined Orient on loan from Leicester, they have climbed into the top half of the table (although admittedly just eight points clear of relegation). Brighton are out of the relegation places too but only by two points and captain Andrew Crofts will probably have to inspire his side to a win if they want to stay out of the relegation places.

Millwall v Norwich City

Millwall have done well recently but league leaders Norwich won’t be the easiest proposition. Both have spent the transfer window loaning out their Welsh players, with Millwall’s Jason Price going to Oldham Athletic and Norwich’s Owain Tudur Jones and Rhoys Wiggins being shipped off to Yeovil Town and Bournemouth respectively. But Norwich’s young midfielder Josh Dawkin could feature on the bench.
Millwall manager Kenny Jackett says Carlisle United made an approach for Jason. It’s nice to see a Welsh player so wanted – and nice that Kenny didn’t want to let him go completely.
