League Two Fixtures 6th February Part 2

Burton Albion v Port Vale
Burton defender Tony James was the subject of a late bid from former club Hereford United but instead he decided to extend his Burton contract by another year. It that loyalty or a sign he’s looked at the league table? No, I think it’s loyalty and it’s very nice to see.
Port Vale’s loan striker Craig Davies has extended his loan until the end of the season. Craig scored his first goal for the club last week and he looks like he’s set to score more of them – perhaps including one against Burton. Lewis Haldane misses out with a one-match suspension. Lewis received two yellow cards last week, including a very controversial one for diving. I’m biased so you can’t trust me but my dad, who is not Welsh, thought he was tripped. Defender Gareth Owen has praised fellow Lee Collins for his good form this season. Not to take anything away from Lee and I am biased but I think Gareth has done a good job too

Chesterfield v Lincoln City
Robert Page will probably be in defence for Chesterfield with Mark Crossley on the bench as they face a team that has just one once away this season. To be fair, sixth-placed Chesterfield haven’t won that many away games either. But they are playing at home in this fixture and they’ve won more home games than any other team in League Two.

Dagenham & Redbridge v Northampton Town
Dagenham goalkeeper Tony Roberts will be hoping not to let in too many goals – as long as he lets in fewer than Northampton, Dag & Red will get the three points and keep in touch with the play-pffs. But Northampton are on a nine-match unbeaten run and defender Peter Gilbert thinks they could be the ones in the play-offs come the end of the season.

Hereford United v Torquay United
Hereford will be hoping to build on their win over Lincoln when they face another possible relegation candidate, Torquay. Ryan Green (hernia) definitely won’t play for Hereford and apparently neither will Ryan Valentine. Ryan V was sent off two matches ago after receiving two yellow cards which usually means a one-match suspension but it now seems he has a two-match ban. Darren Jones however will play as far as I know.

Macclesfield Town v Shrewsbury Town
Forward Matthew Tipton will probably play for Macclesfield while Shrewsbury could include Will Richards in their side (but they didn’t last week).
