Crystal Palace v Bristol City
Crystal Palace so far don’t seem to be missing Neil Warnock since he pissed off to Queen’s Park Rangers. Tonight’s match could well be the time they come crashing back down to earth. Or maybe not. Bristol City have apparently not beaten a team in the bottom half this season.
But do Crystal Palace count as a bottom-half team? If Bristol City can somehow convince themselves that Palace are 11th, they should be fine.
Lewin Nyatanga was in Bristol City’s starting eleven at the weekend with Gavin Williams and James Wilson on the bench. The Mirror named Lewin as the Villain of the Match but we all know we can’t pay too much attention to what the Mirror says.
Ipswich Town v Cardiff City
Cardiff play three away games in the next eight days and on paper, this is the easy one. Ipswich are very good at getting draws though. Probably the best in the whole of the Football League.
Darcy Blake has given up fast food in an effort to keep himself as fit as possible for his team. Now that’s dedication. I don’t think I could bear to give up fast food – although Darcy probably wouldn’t fit into my Size 6 dress. All the same, I think he probably deserves a start. He was brilliant at the weekend. Google him if you don’t believe me. He wasn’t even supposed to start but Aaron Wildig had a slight thigh strain. Aaron might not be fit to start this match either.
Adam Matthews also started on Saturday and he could keep his place. But he might not keep his place next season as Arsenal, Aston Villa, Manchester United and Tottenham are all scrapping over him. Jonathan Meades probably isn’t ready to come off the bench yet but it’s great just to see him on it. Joe Ledley is still out with hip injuries.
Peterborough United v Sheffield United
Sheffield United will be hoping to bounce back from their weekend defeat to Coventry. Probably the only thing Peterborough are interested in bouncing back from is their impending relegation but I’m sure central defender Craig Morgan will still go for the win. He’s even started scoring now so watch out for Craig.
Ched Evans has just got to score a goal for Sheffield United soon. If he doesn’t, maybe someone should exorcise him.
