Championship Results 6th March Part 2

Cardiff City 1-0 Middlesbrough
Cardiff’s win kept them in the play-off hunt but Middlesbrough continue to stutter. Darcy Blake was a late addition to the starting line-up but he did well. It was Darcy’s good work that eventually led to the goal and he was unlucky not to double their lead late on. Adam Matthews also started and completed the game.
Aaron Wildig and Jonathan Meades were both on the bench.
Danny Coyne was in goal for Middlesbrough and although he did let a goal in, he was arguably offside. Rhys Williams seems to have returned to the Middlesbrough squad. BBC Sport did say ther was a Williams on the bench but he was apparently No. 15. Rhys wears 25 and Luke Williams wears 35. But the Middlesbrough official site says Rhys came off the bench and I trust them to recognise their own players.

Crystal Palace 1-0 Sheffield United
So, Queen’s Park Rangers have stolen Crystal Palace’s manager whilst Palace have picked one recently discarded by QPR. Although to be fair, QPR have discarded so many managers lately, it’s probably not easy to find one who hasn’t been discarded by QPR.
Paul Hart started his latest managerial reign with a win over Sheffield United, who remain play-off contenders but have just lost their sixth consecutive away match. Ched Evans came off Sheffield United’s bench after 72 minutes. He did try to shoot but one of his team-mates got in his way.

Derby County 2-0 Watford
Derby got another home win that takes them five points from the relegation zone and leaves Watford just two points away from where they don’t want to be. Robbie Savage played the full match for Derby.
