Championship Fixtures 19th December Part 2

Derby County v Doncaster Rovers
Gareth Roberts should play for Doncaster but reports vary on where John Oster played well in his last match or not. But the only opinion which really matters is that of the manager – based on whether John starts or not, we can draw out own conclusions.
Brian Stock won’t play but that good news is that he’s joining in with training as far as he can and he’ll do the pre-match warm-up alongside his team-mates. He’s not ready to play yet of course but it’s great to see him so far ahead of schedule.
Robbie Savage will be hoping he doesn’t pick up his fifth booking for Derby in this match – because if he does, he will miss out on playing on Boxing Day, which is what Christmas is all about.
Maybe I wrote that last sentence with a little bit of sarcasm but I have to say he’s got a point. Much as I love Christmas, Boxing Day would be a bit of an anti-climax if there wasn’t any football.
Whilst Robbie’s wife Sarah does sound like a bit of a dumb blonde – and there’s nothing wrong with that, I would be one too if I dyed my hair – it is refreshing to find a Wag who is so uninterested in being Size 0, she thinks clothes size XXS is said ‘two times S’.

Nottingham Forest v Preston North End

I think it was mean dropping Robert Earnshaw to the bench last week just because he didn’t score another hat-trick for Nottingham Forest. No offence Forest but if he was that sort of player he wouldn’t be playing for you. Chris Gunter should definitely play too.
Paul Parry nearly scored for Preston in his last game so Forest will be hoping he hasn’t been doing too much shooting practice this week.

Peterborough United v Watford
Craig Morgan is one player who could be dropped from Peterborough’s line-up following the return to fitness of Gabby Zakuani.
