Premiership Results 16th December

Arsenal 1-1 Burnley
Aaron Ramsey replaced Cesc Fabregas after 43 minutes with a hamstring injury. Aaron tried hard but he is three and a half years younger than Fabregas.
There’s lots of talk about Arsenal replacing Manuel Almunia with another Premiership keeper which I don’t think is a good idea unless you’re going to replace him with Shay Given, Pepe Reina or Petr Cech (note I didn’t say Wayne Hennessey or Boaz Myhill even though I adore them).
But after today’s performance maybe it is time for a new keeper at Arsenal. That Brian Jensen at Burnley looks pretty good.

Liverpool 2-1 Wigan Athletic

Jason Koumas was back on the bench for Wigan but he came on after 82 minutes and it wasn’t very long before Wigan had got a goal back. There wasn’t time for another goal but maybe Roberto Martinez will spot the connection.

Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 Manchester City
Gareth Bale was on the bench despite Benoit Assou-Ekotto’s attempt to strangle a fan. When Tottenham went 3-0 on 90 minutes I was screaming for Harry Redknapp to PUT GARETH ON. I think he might have heard me. At any rate, he did as he was told.
So Gareth has now won TWO LEAGUE GAMES in the Premiership. :D Well done Gareth.
You know if I’d been given the choice of Arsenal winning or Gareth winning I might even have chosen Gareth.
Manchester City were without suspended star striker Craig Bellamy after he foolishly let himself be tackled at the weekend. You should have strangled him, Craig. (NB THIS IS A JOKE. I don’t think anyone should strangle anyone ever.)
