Championship Fixtures 24th April Part 2

Newcastle United v Ipswich Town
Newcastle have won the League but Ipswich fans might feel like they’ve achieved something similar. Ipswich sportingly gave the other teams a bit of a head start at the beginning of the season. And unlike many teams, they could still finish in the top half although they probably would have to beat Newcastle, which could prove a stumbling block. If Newcastle win this match, they’ll have won every League match at home this season.
Ipswich manager Roy Keane says the younger players will get a chance over the rest of the season. Troy Brown was on the bench in the last game and he could be there again. He was part of the Ipswich reserve side who have just on the Suffolk Premier Cup.

Nottingham Forest v Plymouth Argyle
If Nottingham Forest win, the second leg of their play-off semi-final will be at home. Plymouth need to win this game at least 10-0 to stand a reasonable chance of staying up.
Chris Gunter could return to the starting line-up after being left out last week. He says he would love to go up to the Championship and play against Gareth Bale. He’s probably the only right back in the League who wants to do that. Robert Earnshaw could also be recalled to the starting line-up.
Plymouth captain Carl Fletcher could be out again after picking up another knee injury.

Peterborough United v Blackpool
A win for Blackpool could put them into the play-off places – and look who they’re playing.
Craig Morgan is ill and hasn’t trained for the last two days so he’s not expected to play for Peterborough.
David Vaughan should start again for Blackpool but Rob Edwards will probably be on the bench. Neal Eardley could return to the squad after recovering from a hamstring injury but Daniel Nardiello’s hamstring seems less co-operative.
