Championship Results 10th Aprli Part 1

Barnsley 0-0 Derby County
Barnsley were looking like play-off contenders not long ago but now people are saying that this point was useful in their survival fight. Barnsley now have 53 points so they’re probably okay although Sheffield Wednesday could get 54 points if they win their remaining games.
Robbie Savage played the full match for Derby.

Bristol City 1-0 Swansea City
How things change. Their survival assured, Bristol City seem to have become (outside) promotion contenders again – they’re six points outside the play-offs. Swansea team Bristol City most want to catch – this defeat leaves them in sixth place.
Christian Ribeiro returned from his knee injury but as Lewin Nyatanga and the other Bristol City defenders did so well last week, Christian was only on the bench.
David Cotterill was perhaps Swansea’s biggest threat and came very close to getting an equaliser. Ashley Williams and Joe Allen also started. David Cornell was on the bench.

Cardiff City 0-0 Reading
This match ended in a draw as Cardiff fought to ensure their place in the play-offs and Reading fought to join them in the top six.
Joe Ledley and Darcy Blake again started for Cardiff but Joe worryingly limped off and was replaced by Aaron Wildig. Adam Matthews dropped to the bench and didn’t come off it but there was no place in the squad at all for Aaron Morris.
Simon Church was hoping for another start after a great performance in Reading’s last match. But this time he had to be content with a 64th minute appearance from the bench although he did come so close to winning the game for Reading,
