League Two Results 24th April Part 1

Burton Albion 0-2 Bournemouth
Bournemouth sealed promotion with a win over Burton Albion, who are set to finish their debut League season in mid-table.
Tony James was absent from Burton’s team, apparently rested.
Rhoys Wiggins played in defence for Burton but Joe Partington wasn’t in the squad.
Well done to Bournemouth – it’s an amazing achievement. They could so easily have been aiming for promotion from the Blue Square Premier this season. Instead they’re promoted from League Two and next season’s fixtures might even include Leeds United.

Cheltenham Town 1-2 Aldershot Town

This match looked like it was going to be a draw but a late winner kept Aldershot in the play-off places. Cheltenham could still, in theory, be relegated on goal difference.
Cheltenham’s Josh Low was a doubt due to a leg injury but he was able to play.

Chesterfield 1-1 Bradford City
Chesterfield are out of the play-off places after only managing a draw with Bradford. Bradford will finish mid-table, which can’t be what they were hoping for but it could be worse – and would have been, if they hadn’t managed to turn around their run of bad form.
Robert Page and Mark Crossley were both on the bench for Chesterfield.
Michael Flynn was in midfield for Bradford and got the assist for their goal with a throw-in.

Hereford United 2-1 Rochdale
Rochdale’s poor run of form continues, with Hereford being the latest to take points off the possible Champions.
Ryan Valentine had the chance to put Hereford 2-0 ahead after winning a penalty and choosing to take the kick himself. It was saved but he stayed focused and managed to put one of the rebounds away. Ryan Green and Darren Jones also played for Hereford.
