Hull were unable to take advantage of their game in hand over their relegation rivals, losing 2-0 to Aston Villa.
Boaz Myhill was again on the bench. He has had some moments really that have been below his usual brilliance but his performances have earned Hull draws against teams including Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur and wins over Manchester City and Fulham.
Aston Villa’s James Collins was Sky Sports’ Man of the Match. Without him, Hull actually might have scored.
