Premier League Fixtures 11th April

Blackburn Rovers v Manchester United
Blackburn are only out of the top ten on goal difference but they face the League Champions, who will be desperate to bounce back after a horrible week.
Jason Brown did brilliantly in goal for Blackburn when Paul Robinson was injured but somehow I have a funny feeling he won’t be getting a recall. Jason is unbeaten in all the League games he’s started and this includes a match against Chelsea. This week Jason has been linked with a move to Middlesbrough this week, where Danny Coyne is currently the second-choice goalkeeper.
Ryan Giggs could play for Manchester United and Owen Hargreaves no longer seems to be a doubt and could be on the bench for Manchester United.

Liverpool v Fulham
Fulham have never been the best at winning away but they’ve done fine against the Europa League sides and Liverpool are a Europa League side. Maybe if they look at it that way they’ll get a… well I wouldn’t quite call it a shock win.
Simon Davies has a rib injury and is a doubt for Fulham. So I don’t know who’s going to play right back. Bobby Zamora maybe? No, he’s injured too. At this rate, Fulham will have to play 3-7-0 but they probably don’t have seven fit midfielders.

Manchester City v Birmingham City
With Tottenham on Cup duty this weekend, Manchester City have the opportunity to move four points clear. And they might well take it, as Birmingham’s star goalkeeper Joe Hart isn’t allowed to play against his parent club (I bet Manchester City are glad they put that clause into his loan deal).
Manchester City are a bit light in midfield – good thing they can put Craig Bellamy on the left wing.

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Stoke City

Wolves are only five points clear of relegation but if they beat Stoke, who aren’t known for their away form (more for their throw-ins, really) they will be looking very safe.
David Jones and Dave Edwards could be fighting it out for the same position in Wolves’ midfield (although with Karl Henry suspended there could be space for both of them), with the loser sitting on the bench with Wayne Hennessey. Sam Vokes probably won’t be there though. I think Mick McCarthy has forgotten about him.
Ryan Shawcross hasn’t played since getting sent off at Arsenal – first he was suspended, then he was injured, then he had to be happy with a place on the bench as Danny Collins and his defensive team-mates have been doing very well. Maybe it’s a ploy by Stoke’s Welsh manager Tony Pulis to make sure Ryan doesn’t get into the England squad and decides to play for Wales instead? If only.
