Championship Results 10th Aprli Part 2

Doncaster 2-3 West Bromwich Albion
Doncaster fought back well from being 2-0 down at half-time but in the end West Brom still took the points – and secured promotion back to the Premier League while they were at it. It is now impossible for Doncaster to get into the play-offs – but you can’t say they’ve had a bad season.
Gareth Roberts and John Oster, who was particularly impressive both played the full match for Doncaster.

Middlesbrough 1-0 Sheffield Wednesday
Middlesbrough’s win puts them four points behind the play-offs – and puts Sheffield Wednesday deeper in trouble.
Rhys Williams came close to scoring for Middlesbrough, as well as putting in some last-ditch tackles to ensure Wednesday didn’t find the net. Danny Coyne was on the bench.

Newcastle United 4-1 Blackpool
A win would have put Blackpool into the play-off places – but they were facing the promoted Newcastle United, who are only a few points away now from winning the title.
David Vaughan started for Blackpool but was substituted – which isn’t something that seems to happen to him often. Rob Edwards was on the bench.

Nottingham Forest 3-0 Ipswich

Nottingham Forest kept their amazing home record going with victory over Ipswich Town, who have been going very well themselves. West Brom’s victory over Doncaster Rovers, however, means that Forest’s very very slim hopes of automatic promotion are gone.
Rob Earnshaw and Chris Gunter both got assists for Forest before Rob scored the winner.
