Portsmouth 1-2 Aston Villa
Aston Villa don’t have much chance of a top four place but it’s still not impossible. Portsmouth would be practically down even without the points deduction but they’re still enjoying their season and getting what they can out of it so fair play to them.
James Collins could have added to his goal tally – already more than impressive for a centre back – but his shot went over. But Villa won anyway so there’s no need for him to worry.
Wigan Athletic 3-2 Arsenal
I don’t want to talk about it. I really don’t. All I’ll say is that Wigan look very likely to survive relegation this season. And next season, Arsenal might just make them wish they’d gone down after all. It is a bit embarrassing though, losing so horribly to the team who were beaten 9-1 by Tottenham Hotspur. But at least it’s only 3-2. Wigan beat Chelsea 3-1 and that’s worse really.
Wigan didn’t even have Jason Koumas playing. He was left out of the squad as usual.
But it’s not all bad. I’m quite proud really that Arsenal’s reserve team are the third-best team in the country. That’s really not at all bad.
