Young Boys 3-2 Tottenham Hotspur (first leg)
As an Arsenal fan I quite enjoyed watching Tottenham go 3-0 down after half an hour against a team they were expected to beat comfortably.
As a Wales fan I was no less thrilled when Gareth Bale played a big part in saving the day for them. Once Gareth had been moved from left wing to left back, the Tottenham defence became more secure and Gareth’s runs from left back were if anything more effective than those from left wing, where he was more easily marked. Gareth put in a number of good crosses and also got the assist for his side’s first goal.
