Preston 1-0 Portsmouth
Preston had no points at all before this month but luckily they were playing Portsmouth so they were able to get three of them.
Craig Morgan helped Preston to get their first clean sheet but Paul Parry wasn’t in the squad after playing for Preston’s reserves the night before. Unfortunately they lost 1-0 to Accrington Stanley’s reserves although Paul nearly scored.
Reading 1-1 Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest are still without a win but at least the fans know they can take their gilt-edged chances.
Robert Earnshaw had a good game for Forest and was the player to profit when Reading keeper Adam Federici (who otherwise had a good game) messed up a kick which rebounded from a team-mate before dropping nicely for Rob to score his first of the season.
Simon Church, Hal Robson-Kanu and Jake Taylor were all on the bench for Reading but their manager chose not to call on them and they didn’t win the game.
Forest were without Chris Gunter, who was suspended.
