Barnsley v Middlesbrough
Title favourites (if they still are) Middlesbrough will be hoping to add to their only league win when they travel to Barnsley.
Danny Coyne will probably be on the bench for Middlesbrough. Rhys Williams is still out with a pelvic injury.
Derby County v Queen’s Park Rangers
Derby have just three points from three games and now they host the only team in the Championship with a 100% record – and the only team who haven’t conceded a goal.
Gareth Roberts and Robbie Savage should both be in Derby’s starting line-up. Let’s hope Robbie can get Adel Taarabt in his pocket again.
Doncaster Rovers v Hull City
I thought both these teams could struggle – and the season is a long way from over yet – but both are in mid-table. However neither team has won in the league since the opening day of the season.
John Oster could return from a knee injury and could be on the bench, if he’s not quite ready to join Brian Stock in midfield.
Ipswich Town v Bristol City
Ipswich aim to continue their good start to the season but Bristol City will be desperate to improve on the two points they have so far. Signing Premier League players might be working for Cardiff City but it’s not been so good for the team on the other side of the Severn.
Troy Brown could start again for Ispwich after being part of the team that – eventually – beat Crewe Alexandra in the Carling Cup.
Former Ipswich player Gavin Williams is the only Welshman who will definitely be in the squad but new signing Brett Pitman could also be eligible for Wales. Christian Ribeiro could return from a back injury after playing 90 minutes a reserve match but Lewin Nyatanga and James Wilson (both knee) and Sam Vokes (hamstring) are still out.
