Fulham 2-2 Manchester United
Brede Hangeland scored for both teams as Fulham and Manchester United fought it out in an entertaining draw, which both Mark Hughes and Alex Ferguson felt was a fair result.
Simon Davies equalised following Manchester United’s opening with a great goal which makes me wish even more that he hadn’t retired. But if retiring means he can keep scoring goals like that, it’s great news for Fulham.
Ryan Giggs and Michael Owen came off the bench with the score at 1-1 in an effort to find a winner. But they didn’t and Ryan is very disappointed. Ferguson thought Ryan should have taken the penalty – but maybe Ryan could see it shouldn’t have been awarded.
Newcastle 6-0 Aston Villa
The return of James Collins from injury can’t come too soon for Aston Villa. True, Newcastle were inspired and determined and even a full-strength Aston Villa would have found them a handful but without James and Carlos Cuéllar, Villa were swept aside.
