Derby County 5-0 Crystal Palace
Derby hadn’t won at home before this match and it’s fair to say they made a pretty thorough job of it. True, Palace went down to 10 men after just 20 minutes but Derby were good value for their win.
Robbie Savage was back in the starting line-up for Derby and set up the fourth goal. Gareth Roberts missed out again after failing a fitness test on his calf.
Andy Dorman was a late substitute for Palace but Lewis Price stayed on the bench as his former side beat his current one.
Leeds United 1-0 Sheffield United
Leeds got back to winning ways against Sheffield United – and beat them for the first time for 17 years. The two sides were equal for much of the game and either team could have taken the lead but Leeds were the ones to break the deadlock.
Jason Brown and Sanchez Watt were both left on Leeds’ bench.
Ched Evans started for Sheffield United and could have scored from a free kick.
Norwich City 0-2 Hull City
Hull won away for the first time for well over a year with victory over Norwich City, who remain in the play-off zone despite the defeat. Hull actually put the ball in the net three times but the first was ruled out for offside. Luckily, this did not deter them and the next time, they made sure they were in an onside position when the ball was played. Norwich played well and looked the most likely to score at 0-0 but, as pundits are so fond of saying, goals do change games.
Andrew Crofts didn’t deserve to be on the losing side but unfortunately he plays for Norwich.
