Brentford 0-0 Hartlepool United
These struggling sides both needed a win but at least they’ve managed to get one point, not to mention a clean sheet. But as neither side are particularly renowned for scoring goals, maybe the clean sheet was more by default than anything else. But they’ve got lots of time to improve.
Nicky Adams played the first 65 minutes for Brentford. He could have got an assist but the striker didn’t quite get there.
Carlisle United 0-0 Brighton & Hove Albion
A win for Carlisle would have put them at the top of the table but although both sides had chances, neither managed to find the back of the net.
Jason Price finally got to make his debut as a real proper Carlisle player (rather than just a loanee from Millwall) in the 87th minute. So he didn’t really have enough time to get back into goalscoring mode.
Dagenham & Redbridge 0-3 Bristol Rovers
Bristol Rovers got their first away win against Dag & Red – and they made sure it was emphatic. Dagenham were unbeaten at home up until this match.
Tony Roberts was in goal for Dag & Red.
Byron Anthony played at left back and did a good job of keeping the opposition quiet. Ben Swallow and Eliot Richards were unused substitutes.
Exeter City 2-2 Peterborough United
Exeter will be disappointed about Peterborough’s late equaliser but even a draw against the former top club is a great result.
Peterborough opened the scoring with an Exeter own goal but Daniel Nardiello found an equaliser in the 54th minute. Richard Duffy was in defence for Exeter. Rob Edwards was an unused substitute.
Huddersfield Town 3-2 Yeovil Town
This result might look so bad on first examination. After all, Huddersfield are one of the top sides while Yeovil have struggled. But when you consider that Yeovil were 2-0 up after 20 minutes, the result must have been a great disappointment.
Yeovil’s midfield was packed with Welshman. Shaun MacDonald, Owain Tudur Jones and Gavin Williams were all given a start along with the sadly Scottish Andy Welsh. Gavin provided the free kick which led to Yeovil’s opener. Some reports say Owain scored this goal, some don’t. I think he didn’t. One thing Owain definitely did though was get the assist for the second.
However it all went a bit pear-shaped after that. Huddersfield scored twice before Owain conceded a penalty. But to be fair to Owain, the game was over by then.
