Chelsea 4-0 Blackpool
Both Blackpool’s defeats so far have come against members of the Big Four – and that’s not something every team can say. Chelsea are looking scarily good. It’ll be hard to stop them from winning the league but they can’t take Arsenal’s unbeaten league record, they can leave that alone. Blackpool experimented with a defensive line-up. It didn’t work but it’s good to experiment.
David Vaughan played the full match for Blackpool but Neal Eardley was replaced at half-time after Ashley Cole was mean to him. Neal was desperate to play against Chelsea, saying he felt like a new man – I bet he felt like an old man by the time Cashley Hole had finished running him ragged. Rob Edwards was left out of the squad again.
Manchester United 3-2 Liverpool
Manchester United took the points in one of the football world’s biggest derbies. They deserved it too in terms of their attacking prowess but, as Liverpool noticed, their defence isn’s exactly at its strongest. Man Utd were lucky they were only playing Liverpool. I almost don’t recognise Dimitar Berbatov now he keeps scoring goals.
Ryan Giggs played most of the match for Man Utd and got the assist for the first goal. Michael Owen was on the bench.
