Welsh Player News 18th September 2010 (Premier League)

James Collins loves being a daddy – but if you call him the old man in the Villa dressing room, he won’t be happy. He was not thrilled to be told he looks older than 27 – but only last year he was mistaken for an 18 year old youth player, although the two do share the same name.
James would like caretaker manager Kevin MacDonald to stay at Villa despite his not being appointed as permanent manager. But although James is disappointed that MacDonald isn’t still their manager, he was happy to hear about new manager Gerard Houllier’s interest in Michael Owen.

David Jones says he would like to sign a new contract and stay at Wolves

West Bromwich Albion’s first-choice keeper Scott Carson is very aware of Boaz Myhill looking over his shoulder.

Condolences to Stoke City manager Tony Pulis – and to his son, Anthony Pulis, who is at Southampton - who heard before Stoke’s match last Monday that his mother had died. He drove from Newport and watched most of the first half (phoning the bench to give instructions) before taking charge for the second and inspiring his side, who were 1-0 down, to a victory.
